Zuffenhausen-Meeting

On July 3rd 2010, RUF Automobile will be at the first meeting of Porsche enthusiasts in Lower Bavaria, the "Treffen der Freunde von Porsche-Fahrzeugen". From 9 o'clock forward, you may find us at the Karphamer festival grounds.

There will be car show, a jumble sale, and the possibility to purchase accessories, tuning components and even cars. Awards will be given to the most deserving cars, and naturally the day will be filled with discussions about all things automotive.

ADAC Mobilitätspreis 2010

On June 8th, the 2010 ADAC Mobility Award was awarded to RUF Automobile by Dr. August Markl, Chairman of ADAC Southern Bavaria, and
Dr. Markus Söder, Bavarian State Minister for Environment and Health.
Mr. Alois Ruf was acclaimed for his pioneering achievements in the development of electric high-performance vehicles, which are suitable for everyday use and may be powered by renewable energies.

ZSF-Germany at RUF

On Saturday May 15th 2010, the "Zuffenhausener Sportwagen Freunde e.V." visited RUF Automobile. This club has approximately 60 members, all passionnate about classic Porsche models.

RUF is also passionnate about such cars, and is world-renown for offering true, authentic restorations of vintage Porsche cars. To learn more about RUF Restoration, click here.

Viperclub Germany visits RUF Automobile

On May 14th 2010, the ground was quaking in Pfaffenhausen because Viperclub Germany visited RUF's headquarters.
25 Roadsters and Coupés of the legendary Dodge Viper met at the company for a factory visit.
They all are equipped with a V-10 engine.

New RUF eight cylinder powerplant for the RGT-8

RUF is proud to present the brand new RGT-8 at the Geneva Motor Show, 04th -14th March 2010. This spectacular prototype vehicle is powered by a completely new RUF designed V8 engine with a 180° crankshaft “Flatcrank”. Four valves arranged spherically together with multipoint fuel injection ensure optimal mixture conditions while the dry-sump system supplies the necessary lubrication. The lightweight engine has a very compact design, has a capacity of 4.5 litres arranged as a V8 and delivers 404kW (550bhp) @ 8500rpm and complements with a maximum torque of 500Nm @ 5400rpm. At all stages of the design process, compactness and weight saving were of priority, the result of which is a total engine weight of less than 200kg.

The new eRUF Stormster

The new eRUF Stormster RUF introduces the first SUV with electric powertrain RUF Automobile GmbH, located in the small Bavarian town of Pfaffenhausen, the manufacturer of high performance automobiles, introduced the first electric sports car (eRUF) from Germany in October 2008. During the Geneva Motor Show, in March 2009, RUF presented an evolution of the first eRUF. The eRUF family continues to grow with the unveiling of the "Stormster", the very first electrically driven SUV based on the Porsche Cayenne. The Stormster is driven by a Siemens electric motor, with 270 kW (367 bhp) as in the eRUF sports car. The total weight is 2,670 kg which makes it capable of reaching 100 km/h in only 10 seconds. The top speed is 150 km/h, being able to reach a range of 200 km at one charge. The lithium ion accumulators are supplied by Li-Tec Battery GmbH. Li-Tec is the first manufacturer of lithium ion battery cells in Europe, designed for the automobile industry using ceramic storage technology. Hankook developed the winter tires for the all wheel drive Stormster which is fitted to RUF classic 5 spoke lightweight wheels. Tires of size 295/30 R 22 allow the best possible road grip. The Stormster will have its first public debut during the European Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, (COP 15), Denmark from December 7th to 18th.

365,8 km/h in Nardo

365,8 km/h in Nardo RUF tested a Porsche 997 GT 2 with RUF upgrade in Nardo. The result was a top speed of 365,8 km/h. RUF workshop manager and test driver Mr. H.-P. Lieb was at the wheel. Lieb, the experienced race driver, had to struggle with wind at sunny skies and 16 degrees Celsius. "Without the winds, I am sure I could have been a few kilometres per hour faster", said Lieb. The GT 2 was fuelled by a RUF Rt 12 S engine with 3.8 liters, bi-turbo chargers and 504 kW (685 bhp). The GT 2 was equipped with an optimised suspension, forged RUF 19 inch aluminium wheels and Continental Vmax tires.
